  Hi Everyone and welcome to our last post as the Lower Junior School!

We ended the day today with our leavers’ assembly and we said goodbye and good luck to the children and parents that are leaving the school and to Ms Krajbich, Mrs Nolan and Miss Williamson as leaving staff. We wish them all every happiness in their new adventures…

It has been an amazing year and we have all been very fortunate to work with fantastic children, parents and staff!

I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support this year… and for reading our weblog!

NEW SCHOOL – NEW SCHOOL YEAR: In September 2011 the building that is currently known as the Lower Junior School will change to become the NEW British School of Amsterdam Infants School!We will therefore be setting up a brand new weblog for the future… This weblog will remain active, so you can revisit here as often as you wish… Details of the new site will be published HERE on our site in September so you’ll know where to find us!

Thanks again to everyone… it has been a great year!

LOWER JUNIOR SCHOOL – ELECTRONIC YEARBOOK 2010 – 2011

 Hi Everyone,

PRIZEGIVING CEREMONY: I’d like to say a big thank you to the Year 3 school choir for yesterday’s performance at our school Prize Giving Ceremony yesterday evening. I’d also like to say a big thank you to Mrs Stout for leading and directing the choir and to the other staff who came along to support the children. Well done and congratulations to all the children who won prizes and our thanks to all the parents who attended the event.

Y3 – EGYPTIAN DAY: It was Egyptian Day in Year 3 today and all the children dressed up in their favourite Egyptian costumes to relive life in Ancient Egypt. Our thanks to the Year 3 team for helping the children and for plannign the day. You can view photos of the event below…

 Y2 – SWIMMING DIPLOMAS: Congratulations and well done to our Year 2 fish who went swimming today for their diplomas! They all did a great job and we are very proud of their swimming achievements this year!

END OF YEAR LETTER: A letter with the final term’s news was sent home today in book bags today (please check!). You can view a copy of the letter below and download a copy [HERE].

END OF YEAR + ASSEMBLY: Tomorrow is the last day of school for the children. The Lower Junior School finishes at 11.45am. We will be holding our last assembly of the year tomorrow at 11.45am in the school hall and parents are warmly invited to join us for this event!

Hi Everyone,

YEAR TWO EXPERIENCE EVENING: On Friday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm the Year Two children took part in their end of year ‘Experience Evening’ at the Upper school. The children played games, took part in activities and had a camp fire sing song! This was all accompanied with a hotdog and refeshments made by some very funny looking Italian Chefs! We’d like to say a big thank you to all the Lower and Upper Junior staff that gave up their evening to help the children and to Miss Williamson for organising and planning the event. CLOSING SEAL ASSEMBLY: Miss Brady led our closing SEAL Assembly today on ‘CHANGES’… Thank you Miss Brady, we think the children are all ready now for their new school in September!

PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY: The school is holding its annual PRIZE GIVING ceremony tonight and all parents are invited to the event. The Lower Junior choir will be singing and their will be awards for some of our Year 3 children. Please come along and support this event if you can… Everyone is warmly invited for drinks at the Upper School from 5.15pm. The ceremony will be hosted in Geert Groote School Theatre next door. Choir members are expected at the main entrance of Geert Groote School at 6.00pm to be met by Mrs Stout and staff. Year 3 prize winners are also asked to arrive in good time so we can organise your seating at the front!

END OF TERM: The whole school closes at 12.00noon on Wednesday 13th July 2011 at the start of the summer holiday. The school has staggered finish times to enable all the children to be collected on time. The Lower Junior School therefore finishes at 11.45am and parents are asked to collect their child at this time… thank you!

END OF TERM ASSEMBLY – PARENTS WELCOME: Our last whole school assembly will be held on Wednesday 13th July 2011 at 10.45am in the school hall (please note slightly later start time than previously advertised) and should be finished at 11.30am. All parents are warmly invited to attend, so please come along if you are available, we’d love to see you there!

Hi Everyone,

LAST ACHIEVEMENT ASSEMBLY: We had our last ACHIEVEMENT ASSEMBLY of the year today and ALL the children received recognition for their learning this year! Our assembly all year has followed a ‘GAME SHOW’ theme and the children have enjoyed getting involved in this interactive experience each week. Mr Chapman thought that a new jacket was required for the assembly host, to really complete the GAME SHOW experience, so this made our last achievement assembly of the year a little more authentic! You can join in today’s fun too by having a look at the photos below!

YEAR TWO EXPERIENCE EVENING: Our Year Two children will be visiting the Upper School this evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm as the mums and dads get a well deserved rest and the children take part in their ‘Experience Evening’… Miss Williamson and the Year Two team have planned a great evening of fun, games and surprises for the children. Please remember to drop your child at the Upper Junior Gate of our Fred Roeskestraat Campus at 7.00pm and collect them at 9.00pm. Thank you! We’ll bring you photos of the event on Monday!

END OF YEAR SCHOOL REPORT: Your child’s end of year report was sent home today. Please check your child’s book bag for your copy. We would appreciate it if families return the enclosed slip to acknowledge safe receipt. Thank you!

LAST WEEK OF TERM: Next week is the last week of term. The children are in school all day on Monday and Tuesday and finish at 11.45am on Wednesday (Lower Juniors).
